The front side depicts a Goat walking on grass with its head turned to the left. The engravings are the year of issue, fine weight, purity and Chinese character for Goat.
The reverse side shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The inscriptions include “ELIZABETH II”, “AUSTRALIA” and “5 DOLLARS”.
