The “Year of the Tiger” is the third edition of the Lunar gold coin program from the Perth Mint. The series is based on the Chinese Zodiac, which is a 12 year cycle that features a different animal for each year in the cycle.
The Lunar Tiger 1/20 oz gold coin has a fineness of .9999 gold and a limited mintage of 10,427 coins.
The front side of the coin depicts a leaping tiger. The engravings include the fine weight, purity, year of issue and the Chinese character for tiger.
The reverse side shows the Raphael Maklouf effigy of her majesty Queen Elizabeth II as a young women.
