Somalia Elephant 1oz Gold Coin 2024
Bayerisches Hauptmünzamt
The Bavarian Mint has been producing circulating and investment coins for over 850 years. They also produce the Somalia Elephant series.
The Somalia elephant from the “African Wildlife” series has been minted in Germany since 2004 and since 2010 it has also been issued in gold. The annually changing motif adorns both the gold and silver coins.
The “Somalia Elephant” 1 ounce gold coin 2024 is 99.99% pure and has a diameter of 38.7 mm.
On the motif side two bull elephants are shown fighting in the African savannah. The surroundings are accented with the African scrub and native acacia trees. In the centre of the image you can see one of the two elephants attacking the other which is emerging from the edge of the coin. With this edition the designers are certainly showcasing their skills; the motif is designed with such incredible detail and it seems as though you are looking through a lens, formed by the edge of the image, experiencing the natural spectacle up close.
As with the other editions, the inscription reads "AFRICAN WILDLIFE" ,"ELEPHANT" and "1 oz Au 999.9".
The value side shows the coat of arms of Somalia. To the left and right of the coat of arms is the year “20” “24”, above the country of origin “SOMALIA REPUBLIC” and below the face value “1,000 SHILLINGS”.
With this beautiful design of the Somalia Elephant 2024, the Bavarian Mint has created another excellent edition that is captivating for both collectors and investors.
