Design/Appearance
Obverse:
In the Temple of Heaven is a Hall of Prayers for Abundant Harvest shown against a black background. The temple is shown with Chinese characters within the outer rings reading on top meaning People's Republic of China. The year of issue “2000” is shown at the bottom.
Reverse:
The reverse depicts a sitting panda holding a bamboo shoot. All minting details are then shown above the panda inside the outer edge of the coin. Characters display metal “Au”, purity “.999“ and size “½ oz”. At the feet of the panda is shown the nominal value “50” and the Yuan sign.
