Obverse:
Against a black background is featured a picture of the Hall of Prayers for Abundant Harvest in the Temple of Heaven. Within the outer rings Chinese characters are shown on the top reading "Zhonghua Renmin Gongheguo" meaning People's Republic of China. The year of issue “2000“ is shown at the base within the rings under the Temple design.
Reverse:
One adult Panda sitting holding a bamboo twig. Showing at the panda’s feet are the nominal value “100” and the sign for Yuan. Above the panda motif at the rim are details of metric purity Au “.999” and weight “1 oz”.
