Design/Appearance
The Obverse:
In the Temple of Heaven is a Hall of Prayers for Abundant Harvest. At the top Chinese characters in the outer set of rings reading People's Republic of China. The year of issue „1999” is shown at the base. This year there are three designs of the date, showing three mints were involved.
Reverse:
Sitting on a rocky outcrop one panda on all four paws. All minting details are shown above the panda head showing purity “.999” then “Au ½ oz”. In the front of the right paw in large numbers is the nominal value “50” and the sign for Yuan.
