Obverse:
Within an inner ring there is a picture of the Hall of Prayers for Abundant Harvest in the Temple of Heaven. The year of issue „1996“ is shown at the bottom under the Temple design and Chinese characters are shown on the top reading "Zhonghua Renmin Gongheguo" meaning People's Republic of China.
Reverse:
A Panda looking down climbing on a tree with all four paws. To the right side of the coin between two branches characters display metric purity „.999“ then „1 oz Au“ and in front and below of the panda face the nominal value 100 and symbol for Yuan are imprinted.
