China Panda 1/2oz Gold Coin 1994
The design of the panda motif continues to change every year and the 1/2oz Panda 1994 is minted in 999/1000 fine gold. The design of the Temple of Heaven on obverse remains the same from 1992.
Design/Appearance
Obverse:
In the Temple of Heaven is a Hall of Prayers for Abundant Harvest. This motif is shown within an inner ring around the coin. Above the Temple Chinese characters read People's Republic of China. The year of issue „1994” is shown at the bottom within the circle below the Temple design.
Reverse:
Sitting on a rock, a single panda is chewing a bamboo branch. The value of 50 Yuan can be seen below the rock. Chinese characters running around the rim above the panda shoulder read “Au,1/2oz”, and purity, ”.999“.

The ½ oz coin has 27mm diameter.
