This is the first year since 1982 that the obverse layout of the coin has changed but there are still different panda designs each year. The 1992 China Panda ½oz is 99.9 fine gold and in mint-state condition. Chinese mints do not normally use mintmarks but some years show minor variations in design, such as size of date, to identify mint in China or the design made by different designers.
Design/Appearance
Obverse:
Although the rim design has changed there still is displayed the Temple of Heaven with Hall of Prayers for Abundant Harvest. This year there is an inner circle around the Temple Design where are shown Chinese characters reading on top meaning People's Republic of China” and the year of issue „1992” at the base.
Reverse:
Amongst some trees a panda is climbing on a branch. The nominal value of 50 Yuan can be seen above the head. Chinese characters running around the rim between the trees show purity, “999“ and “Au ½ oz“.
