The front side of the coin depicts a Lunar Snake coiled around a tree branch. The Chinese character for snake is engraved on the right side of the coin in the center. The other inscriptions are the fine weight, purity and date of issue.

The reverse side shows the right side portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with crown. The engravings include; “ELIZABETH II”, “AUSTRALIA” and “25 DOLLARS”.
