Design/Appearance:
Obverse:
The obverse portraits the Temple of Heaven with Chinese characters reading on the top. The year of issue „1987“ is shown at the bottom.
Reverse:
The 1987 motif shows a Panda drinking at the side of river with two bamboo trees to the right. To the left and above the motif Chinese characters display size, 1/4, and metric purity „.999“ and „1/4 OZ Au.“. Under the Panda motif the value of 25 and character for Yuan can be read. Next to this is either a S or Y in small box which is the mintmark.
