Philip Nathan’s 1987 interpretation of Britannia is displayed on the reverse depicting Britannia with her hair and robes flowing in the wind as she holds a trident in one hand and a shield and olive branch in the other. The Britannia King Charles III 1oz Silver Coin 2024 includes four pioneering advanced security measures making it one of the most visually secure coins in the world. These include a latent image that undergoes a transformation, shifting from a padlock to Britannia's iconic trident. The background waves come to life through surface animation, adding a dynamic visual element. Britannia's shield proudly displays the Union flag and includes meticulous tincture lines. Meanwhile, micro-text that borders the design serves a dual purpose, contributing to the coin's aesthetic appeal and adding to its security features. It reads ‘DECUS ET TUTAMEN’, which translates to ‘An ornament and a safeguard’. The name of the coin, its weight and purity of the silver is written in the legend.
