The China Panda 30g silver coin 2017 is available! China Panda silver and gold coins are the signature investment bullion coin of China. The coin depicts the iconic Panda Bear on the front and the famous Temple of Heaven in Beijing on the reverse.
In 2016, the Chinese Government changed its weighting system for investment coins from ounces to metric grams. The China Panda 30g silver coin 2017 replaced the China Panda 1oz silver coin issued from the year 2015. The China Panda is the first investment coin to use the metric gram weighting system.
Since 1987, the China Panda Coin Series has become a classic and enjoys continually growing international popularity.
Fine Weight and Fineness
China Panda silver coins have a fineness of 999/1000 with a fine weight of 30g silver.
One year after the introduction of China Panda gold coins in 1982, the first silver coins were issued by the People's Republic of China. They had a weight of 27g, with a fine content of 900/1000.
In 1987 the China Gold Coin Incorporation (CGCI) was founded to design, manufacture and market Chinese memorial and investment coins in the four precious metal types (gold, silver, platinum and palladium).
The main motif has been the panda bear, which is a national symbol, but also the oldest ambassador of the Republic of China.
The Panda is located in China and is threatened with extinction. The name was given according to the “Small Pandas" that live in Nepal and China. In some regions they are also called goldhounds.
In China, the panda is a national symbol and gives the coin its name. The depiction of the Panda changes every year, which adds to the appeal of the coin series. The Panda is typically shown in its natural environment eating or playing. In order to make the coin even more detailed, several Pandas are often represented.
The new design for the 2017 version depicts a panda holding a bamboo branch, sitting in the meadow. A bamboo forest is depicted in the background.
In the upper and lower quarters of the coin, bamboo leaves are defined as a demarcation to the coin image. The fine weight, the metal specification and the fine content "30g Ag 999" can be seen below the motif. To the left of the motif is the nominal value of 10 Yuan.
The back of the China Panda silver coin shows the “Temple of Heaven”, which is a national symbol in China. The “Temple of Heaven” was built in 1420 and is one of the most sacred structures in China. Above is the inscription "People's Republic of China". The mintage year 2017 is noted below the Temple motif.
