The Hungarian 10 Korona Gold coin was minted in limited quantities from 1892-1915, during the reign of Franz Joseph I. Each 10 Korona gold coin has a purity of 90% gold and a weight of 3.3875 g.

Franz Joseph ruled the Austro-Hungarian Empire as Emperor of Austria from 1848-1916 and the King of Hungary from 1867-1916. He was the longest reigning Emperor of Austria and the third longest reigning monarch of any country in Europe.

Design Highlights

  • The front side of the coin depicts a full standing profile of Franz Joseph I. The date of issue is below the profile of the Emperor and King.

  • The reverse side depicts the coat of arms of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The nominal value of “10 KORONA” is engraved below the coat of arms. The inscription across the top outer edge is in Hungarian and translates as “Kingdom of Hungary”.
