The Lunar III Tiger 1oz Gold Coin is part of the Lunar III series that began in 2020. The reverse displays a fierce looking tiger standing on a rock turning its head and showing its bared teeth. This side of the coin also displays the inscription “TIGER 2022” with the Chinese character for tiger above. A small capitalised letter P is shown to the left to indicate that it was minted by the Perth Mint.
The obverse of the coin displays Jody Clark’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and also includes the weight, purity, and face value in the legend. The Lunar III Tiger 1oz Gold Coin 2022 is legal tender in Australia with a denomination of 100 AUD.
The coin is made from one troy ounce of fine gold with a purity of 999.9/1000 and has a gross metric weight of 31.10 grams. It has a diameter of 32.60 mm and a thickness of 2.80 mm.
